Network Development

Network Development

As Gaslink, being the System Operator, is responsible for the development of the natural gas network, it publishes a seven-year development plan at the beginning of each calendar year.

This development plan contains an analysis of the sufficiency of the network’s infrastructure over the seven-year period, which includes a balance of gas supply and demand. Gaslink is obliged to prepare this document as it is conditioned in the licence granted to it by the CER. The plan is updated each year reflecting the dynamic nature of the gas transportation business and the demands that are placed on the network.

Gaslink is also responsible for preparing a five-year price control plan, which is approved by the CER.
