Capacity refers to the Transporters capability to transport gas through the network. There is a finite amount of capacity that can be made available. Shippers are required to reserve capacity in order to transport gas through the network, both at the entry and exit points and as such are reserving a portion of the available throughput of the pipeline network. Shippers are obliged to reserve enough Capacity to cover their peak-day requirement. The Transporters revenue is primarily recovered by means of capacity charges
