From July 4th 2008, Gaslink is the Transmission System Operator (TSO) and Distribution System Operator (DSO) and is responsible for operating, maintaining and developing Ireland's natural gas transmission and distribution systems.
Gaslink has been established under legislation as an independent subsidiary of Bord Gáis Éireann (BGÉ) to fulfill the requirements of EU Directives relating to the development of the natural gas market.
Responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the systems will transition across from Bord Gáis Networks to Gaslink over the coming months.
